Epigenetic Regulation of Tumor Immunogenicity

Onco-immunotherapy holds great promise for the eventual eradication of cancer. However, at the present time, the response rate of cancer to immunotherapy remains around 20%, which represents a major challenge. In this presentation, I will explore the possibility of manipulating epigenetic regulators in order to turn tumors from “cold” to “hot”. I will also discuss possible mechanisms that underlie this transformation of tumor behavior.

 施揚，男，1982年畢業(yè)于上海第一醫(yī)學院，1987年獲紐約大學醫(yī)學院分子生物學專業(yè)博士學位，1988-1991年為普林斯頓大學博士后。1991年受聘于哈佛大學醫(yī)學院,2004年晉升為終身正教授。2005年起為復旦大學生物醫(yī)學研究院分時PI、教授，同年被評選為教育部“長江學者獎勵計劃”講座教授，2012年入選國家“千人計劃”講座教授(B類)。施揚教授曾擔任吳瑞協(xié)會（Ray Wu Society，現(xiàn)稱為CBIS，即華人生物學家協(xié)會）理事長（2000-2002年）及美州華人生物科學學會主席（2016-17）。最重要的研究成果之一是發(fā)現(xiàn)了首個組蛋白賴氨酸去甲基化酶LSD1，結束了長達40多年關于組蛋白是否可以去甲基化的爭議，開創(chuàng)了組蛋白甲基化修飾動態(tài)調控的新領域。施揚教授還領導課題組發(fā)現(xiàn)了許多含JmjC結構域的去甲基化酶，以及率先發(fā)現(xiàn)了識別“零”甲基的蛋白。其科研成就推動了表觀遺傳學快速發(fā)展及新藥開發(fā)，得到學術界廣泛認可，2005年獲華人生物學家協(xié)會資深研究獎（CBIS Senior Investigator Award)，2012年獲美國癌癥協(xié)會（American Cancer Society）教授榮譽，2016年當選美國人文及科學院院士。
